What is the schedule for Part Time classes?

Course schedules at MUAH are basically divided into two, full-time and part-time. Full time (weekdays) classes are from 10AM to 5PM, with a one-hour lunch break from 12PM to 1PM. Part time (weekend) classes are from 9AM to 5PM, with a one-hour lunch break from 12:30PM to 1:30PM. If I am absent from class, do I get a replacement?

Students can attend repeated class over 3 cycles of the same course. This benefit only applies to Certification courses only.

Example:

Student A works as a nurse in shifts. So she can attend the class within the schedule and also attend repeated class in the next cycle of the same course. She can do this for 3 cycles only. When she exceeds 3 cycles, she will need to pay for extra classes at RM50/class.

This term is applicable for anyone who can't attend the classes as per scheduled in the class calendar.

Will you help me look for jobs after I graduate?

There are opportunities to volunteer for sponsored jobs and events available throughout the year via the MUAH Team. Upon graduation, artists are free to volunteer to help more experienced artist in their job and get their feet wet. MUAH will also feature your portfolio photos taken during the exam in selected social media outlets.

How many students in a course?

MUAH takes a maximum of 8 students per course every month. This is to ensure that our trainers are able to provide ample attention to all the students in class.

When is your intake?

We have intake 30 days before the class begins. To find out about current promotions, you can call MUAH at 088-717275 or keep track of updates on our Instagram and Facebook page.

Who are the trainers at MUAH Studio Academy?

MUAH trainers are actual makeup artists that are actively involved in the local makeup artistry scene who are gifted communicators too. They each have their own style and are always looking to learn and push their skills further at every opportunity they get.

What language will the class be taught in?

The classes will be taught in English and Malay and notes provided for students are available in English.

I have zero makeup knowledge. Which course should I register?

We recommend that you start with the Bridal Day Vol. 1 course. You can always upgrade your course if you feel like you're hungry for more. 

How can I start working in this industry after graduating from MUAH?

Whether you're freelancing, working in your own business or for a company, capturing opportunities is about selling your skills. A good way to hone your skills is to practice, and a good way to get your feet wet is by volunteering for jobs sponsored by the MUAH Team which you'll be a part of after graduation.

What is the future like for a Makeup Artist in Sabah?

Makeup and hair artistry is a growing and still evolving profession in Sabah. The services you can provide as a makeup/hair artist are mainly focused on bridal clients, but with the growth of the cosmetics and beauty industry, demand in makeup knowledge and skills are also on the rise. From organising workshops to providing personal training, to collaborating with bridal and photography studios, to working in cosmetic sales to freelancing.

Are there any exams, homeworks or assignments for the course?

Yes, all students will be given homeworks and assignments during the course. After completing the course, students whom have completed the required amount of credit hours will be sitting for their theory and practical exam. Not all students pass the exam, so it will help you a lot to be dedicated to the works given in class.

Do I enter class right after registration?

Registration period is open a month before the classes begins. Classes now are scheduled a few months in advance and students can choose which course they are interested in.

I only want to learn makeup, not hairstyling, is that possible?

Yes, you can take the makeup class only, or even the hairstyling class only, by selecting courses that focus on specific skills, like makeup mastery or bridal hairstyling course.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, instalments are available by credit card only in 6 or 12 months instalments (available soon).

How do I register?

You can register by coming to the studio to fill up the form and pay the registration fee, or by filling up our online registration form and transferring the payment.

I registered for a Bridal Day Vol 1., how do I upgrade to Certificate in Bridal Makeup and Hairstyling.

To qualify for a Certificate in Bridal Makeup and Hairstyling, you will need to complete a minimum of 120 credit hours of:

Compulsory courses:

Bridal Day Vol 1 (30 hours)

Bridal Night Vol 1 (30 hours)

Bridal Hair (30 hours)

Option for extra 30 hours:

Bridal Day Vol 2 / Bridal Night Vol 2 (30 hours)

After which, you may pay for the examination fee and graduate with the Certificate in Bridal Makeup and Hairstyling.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes, we sometimes offer discounts and/or promotions while the registration is open.

Do you accept credit card/debit card?

Yes, in fact we accept credit/debit card transactions at the studio or even online. You can also transfer to our Maybank or CIMB account, or even pay via PayPal. You can register straight away at our website now to secure your seat.

Is my payment still valid if I haven't completed my course within the stipulated period given?

Course payment is valid til 31st December of every year. Only if otherwise stated or instructed, then the course would still be valid for the next year. This falls under the student's responsibility to check if their payment is valid before the end of the year.

What are the brands that are included in the makeup kit?

The brands used in MUAH are Kryolan (Germany), Mehron(USA) and also MUAH's very own line of tools and lashes.

What do I need to purchase before attending the course.

There are makeup kits for sale at MUAH for students which are heavily discounted for the benefit of learning students. These kits include cosmetics, brushes, a makeup bag and t-shirts, depending on which type you choose. You can now purchase your kits online on our course page. The student kits are optional, and you can use your own tools and cosmetics if you already have everything you need. There are items that are not included in the kit however, which you will have to get on your own. These include false lashes, false lash glue, cotton pad, cotton bud, tweezers, sharpeners, spatula, mixing palette, hand sanitiser, hair equipment and et cetera. The list will be provided to you upon registration.

Do I need any previous experience or qualification to enter MUAH Studio Academy?

No previous experience or qualifications are needed for our courses, only the passion to be a successful makeup artist. We teach you all you need to learn to enter the industry with all the skills of an advanced level professional.
